Granite City Pickling and Warehouse has been pickling steel in Granite City, IL since 1984. A majority of our work is for the local steel mill. We process for their customers who require first class quality and service. We provide the final inspection of the steel that the mill ships to critical customers like Ford Motor Company, Tower Automotive, and many others.

We are a “processor only” facility. We do not buy and sell steel. Many of our customers appreciate that. They know we are not interested in pirating away their customers and that we will not put our own steel in front of theirs when it comes to scheduling. We often process coils within 24 hours after receiving them and it is not unusual to have a truck wait while we do an emergency run.

We have been QS/ISO certified since 1998 and have not failed or had any problems with an audit. We are a very quality service conscious organization. We have one of the best safety records of any one in our industry. Every one of our team members will tell you that safety, quality, and service are our top priorities and that is our mission statement is 100% customer satisfaction, nothing less.

We operate a highly efficient push-pull pickle line that allows us to produce one of the highest quality finishes in the industry. We have rail service directly into our facility and are centrally located in Granite City Illinois, just outside St Louis. Wherever your steel is going, there's a good chance we are on the way.

Unlike anyone else in the industry, the function of our organization enables us to meet our customers' JIT scheduling demands. Although our equipment is state of the art and continuously improving, you'll find that our people make the difference too.

In 2008 we finalized our shape correction system. This process can greatly enhance your steel. We can make corrections to wavy edge(s), center buckle and cross bow. In mild steel it makes the surface much smoother and shiny. Many of our customers have come to expect this as part of our pickling process.

We meet many customer specific information technology needs. Our inventory management systems were designed by us to meet the exacting needs of our process. We continuously stay current with computer technology so that we can track every pound of steel that enters and leaves our facility. We treat your IT department as though it's an extension of our own.
